S H A R I N G A N O P E N V I S I O N
PERSPECTIVES embraces excellence, originality and innovation in all photo-based art. The founding members of the group are David Cramer, Fernando Delgado, Joan Fenicle and Barry McCormick.They live and work in Placitas, and we thank them for serving as our judges for the albuquerqueARTS 2009 Annual Photography Contest.
David Cramer is an award-winning nature and scenic photographer, with an emphasis on the landscapes and wildlife of the Southwest United States. His work is exhibited in galleries in New Mexico, Texas, and Utah.
Fernando Delgado came to New Mexico via Cuba and a successful 25 year career as a creative director for the advertising industry in New York. His work has been exhibited around the country and showcased in several publications.
Joan Fenicle interprets the scenery and culture of the southwest in paintings and photographs. She is a longtime member of Rainbow Artists, a women’s art collective; photo editor for albuquerqueARTS magazine; and coordinator of the Artscrawl gallery events in Albuquerque.
Barry McCormick was a commercial photographer for more than 30 years in the New York metro area, specializing in large format food and product illustration. Since moving to New Mexico he concentrates on fine art figurative work. His work is collected internationally.

First Place Winner Kim Ashley owns the Click! Photography Gallery in Los Ranchos, featuring fine art photographs of the American Southwest. He is the author of “Photographing Albuquerque,” a travel and photo guide that takes the reader to the best photo sights in and around the Albuquerque area. Jake Anthony Mirabal is a recent graduate from the Art Center Design College. He and his wife are both photographers. He used to take Polaroid pictures of the Balloon Fiesta.Times have changed. He has matured from a little kid and now focus on the perfect shot. – Living Venus de Milo |

| Third Place Winner Elliot Madriss is an award-winning photographer living in Albuquerque. He does photojournalism for Around magazine and sports photography for Kim Jew Studios. | Roman Pawluk comes to New Mexico from Connecticut. For over 10 years while visiting and living in the Zuni-Gallup area, he has photographed the landscape and Zuni traditional agriculture. But mostly his attention is drawn to the drama above the land, the spectacle of clashing forces that produce and alter the storm clouds which provide endless combinations of shapes and illumination over the odd landscape.

| Jory Vander Galien is a Studio Fine Arts student at UNM concentrating in Photography. For him, photography is one of those mediums in art giving the artist absolute power. He has been been passionate about photography since he was a kid but was not until recently that he decided to make it a career.

| Denise Bierley, a long time New Mexico resident, has been photographing images since childhood when she had a “brownie” camera knockoff that produced her first images. Four years ago, she began exploring digital photography and the intricacies of the technology and the myriad of creative avenues that digital imaging gives the artist.

| Eric Jones is a physicist retired from Sandia labs, and an award-winning photographer. Photography has been his hobby for more than 50 years and his pictures have recently been in New Mexico Magazine, 2009 EXPO NM (Best of Show),

| Linda Laitner views photography as an opportunity to share the sacredness of the universe with others. Capturing the moment, just one millisecond at a time gives others a new window on the world.Laitner was selected US Park Service Artist in Residence at the Hubbell Trading Post in 2009.
