The New Mexico School for the Arts (NMSA) is a public/private partnership:
A New Mexico charter high school and a nonprofit art educational institution have united as one institution of learning that will provide the highest standards of excellence in preparing artistically talented students for post-secondary education and/or professional careers in the arts.
NMSA will offer pre-professional instruction in Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts in combination with rigorous academics leading to a New Mexico diploma.
Now accepting applications for grades 9, 10, and 11.
The school is scheduled to open in Fall 2010.

NMSA is supported by these two New Mexico theater companies:
Musical Theatre Southwest has been entertaining New Mexico audiences for over 45 years.
Their 2010 season includes The 25th Putnam County Spelling Bee, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Willy Wonka.

PLAY Conservatory offers unique and challenging educational programs in Theater. PLAY Conservatory projects employ theatre professionals who design, build, and manage the productions, and teaching artists who help students develop their skills in acting, singing, dancing, stagecraft, literacy, leadership, and professionalism.
Two tandem projects for students age 9 to 17 will lead PLAY Conservatory’s 2010 season:
Godspell Jr. and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Both plays run from April 22 through May 2
