THE MOTHERF***ER WITH THE HAT

The Silver Station Theater Company will be showcasing local talent in their production of The Motherf**ker With the Hat by Pulitzer-prize winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. 

Described as a, “high-octane verbal cage match about love, fidelity and misplaced haberdashery,” The Motherf**ker With the Hat will be showing for a limited run at The Cell Theatre from June 28 to July 1. The play contains adult themes and content and as such it is strongly recommended to leave the little ones at home for this one.

About the Play and Playwright

The Motherf**ker with the Hat debuted on April 11, 2011 at Broadway’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre starring Chris Rock and Bobby Cannavale in the lead roles. The Motherf**ker with the Hat was nominated for a number of awards including Best Play at the 2011 Tony Awards and was awarded the Lunt-Fontanne Awards for Ensemble Excellence at the 2011 Theatre World Awards. 

Stephen Adly Guirgis is an American playwright, screenwriter, actor, and director. Guirgis has written a number of plays including the play Between Riverside and Crazy, which won him the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2015. His plays have been produced both on Broadway and Off-Broadway as well as in the UK. 

About the Theatre Company

The Silver Station Theatre Company was founded by Aidan Viscarra as a way to bring together new and old friends who have now moved to Albuquerque to pursue careers in film and theatre. The goal of the Silver Station Theatre company is to be able to produce theatre collectively with peers in the industry.

 About the Director:

No-e Gomez attended New Mexico State University where he studied Digital Filmmaking and Technical Theater. While at school he worked professionally in independent film and community theater, primarily in production and set design. He has since made the move to Albuquerque in order to pursue work mainly in film and TV costumes. You may have seen No-e’s Costume and Set work in Sicario 2, Buffalo, Beat Blue, Fast Color, Graves, Mr. Robot, Altered, Roswell. He would like to thank Dennis Hopper for the opportunity, Aidan Viscarra for the trust, Robert Dugan’s heart, Jakeup his brother and his pineapple Elizabeth Anaya.

The Motherf**ker With the Hat takes place in present day New York City and follows Jackie, a former drug dealer, following his release from prison. The play explores his tumultuous relationships with friends, love, and vices in this dark comedy with doses of truth and honesty. 

About the Cast

 Josh Horton

Josh Horton is Albuquerque born and raised, He attended NMSU receiving his BFA in Theatre Arts. Josh is currently attending UNLV in their Graduate program studying Acting and Performance. His most recent credits include Othello in “Othello The Remix” Scaffolding Theatre Company -Davey Battle in “Take me out” at the Nevada Conservatory Theatre and Macduff in Macbeth at the Nevada conservatory theatre.

 Aidan Viscarra

Aidan Viscarra was born and raised in Las Cruces New Mexico. He attended New Mexico State University where he studied Theater. He was last seen on stage in the “Bomb-itty of Errors” as Antipholus of Ephesus at The Adobe Rose Theater in Santa Fe. He loves working on film sets and hanging out with his dog Phantom. He dedicates this performance to His Mom, Dad, Sister, and the Renal Transplant Team at the Presbyterian Hospital.

 Nicole Bartlett

Nicole Bartlett graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Theatre Arts. Her most recent roles include Patricia in Extremities, Velma Kelly in Chicago and Edwin Drood in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. She is new to the Albuquerque area and is thrilled to be a part of this project. 

 Angelique Felice 

Angelique Felice hails from what she likes to call “The Dirty Southwest”. When she’s not being an Art Director at an ad agency by day, you can catch her frequenting a karaoke bars, film sets, or in the corner of a party with the household pet. She was last seen onstage in “Company” (Musical Theatre Southwest) as Marta. She dedicates this performance to Sam and to her loving husband, Keagan.
